The Hourglass

About 1962

These photographs were exhibited in the Impossible Landscapes of the Mind exhibition at Hirschl & Adler Galleries, New York, in September-October, 1999.

Grace Glueck, in her New York Times review, wrote:

"Through his [Herz's] lens, shop window mannequins, exotic nightclubs, street events and eccentric fetes became dreamlike objects and events... The photographs...deserve to be discovered."

Black and white photographs are vintage silver halide prints: these are available from the Stephen Daiter Gallery, Chicago. Color photographs are modern prints from vintage chromes; these prints and modern black and white silver halide prints are available from Barbara Singer Photography.

All of the images are available for stock licensing from the Bridgeman Art Library International Ltd. or from Barbara Singer Photography.
